About

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

This has been my favorite bible verse for as long as I can remember. It’s one of those verses that really sums up the meaning of grace and what it is to be in relationship with the Lord. But it wasn’t until I walked through my 20-year personal journey of healing, forgiveness, and redemption that I really understood just how fiercely and desperately we are loved by our Father.

That’s what this blog is about: fierce, passionate, redeeming love.

About me
First, the important things. I’ve seen The Princess Bride over 200 times and I am arguably Michael W. Smith’s biggest fan. Ever. Like, EVER. I am also slightly obsessed with musical theater and believe life would be much more interesting if we all occasionally broke out into spontaneous song and dance.

Over 20 years since our first date and I am still hopelessly in love with my husband, David. Like fine wine and stinky cheese, we are both getting better with age (I’ll let you decide who is the wine and who is the cheese). We have three loud, funny, messy teenagers who make me laugh and keep me on my toes.

The Ballon family

When I’m not hanging out with this crazy crew I write some things and teach some other things. My first book, Forgiven and Restored, was released July 2019 and chronicles my journey of healing and forgiveness after abuse, abandonment, and betrayal.

In summer 2020 my husband and I planted Living Waters of Capon Bridge, along with our friends and ministry partners Melissa and Joe DiDiana. I serve as Teaching Ministry Coordinator at Living Waters. I also work at a local college doing curriculum and program development.

My passion is encouraging and praying with women who are burdened or hurting and sharing the good news that through God we can find strength, hope, and unfailing love. It’s this passion that led to the very first Renew & Restore Women’s Retreat, which is now in its sixth year.
